Polka Family Sweeps USPA Awards!
About two weeks ago the band was on the road to a gig when one of the guys received a phone call stating that the band had won numerous awards this year from the USPA in Cleveland, OH. When the guys got to their gig, they were informed that the band won "Favorite Band," "Favorite CD," "Favorite Song" & "Male Vocalist." The male vocalist being Hank Guzevich, not Kevin Kurdziel. The guys appreciate the news and look forward to receiving the awards at the USPA Festival towards the end of May.

Holy Shtick!
The band would like to thank Lenny Adamski and Mike Ziemski for the use of their clarinet and sax at Blobs Park April 4th. The guys in the band were hungry for more on the way to their gig and told Glenn to get 'em some philly cheesesteaks. He remembered the food, but not the instruments! So thanks to Lenny and Mike, Glenn was able to perform as usual Saturday night. Look on the bright side, if we didn't have a clarinet that night, Kevin would have been forced to bring out the Polka Shamrocks Keyboardinet from Maureen's closet! AHHHHHH!!!!

As you can tell, our website has a new look. We decided it was time to give our page a facelift to match the weight loss in the band as of late! You'll be able to find all of the same information as the former website, but we also have much more in features for you to check out. We've added a Media section with photos, uTube videos, and live mp3s of the band. We've also reorganized our Recordings section. The old website had a biography on the Polka Family Band History. We've kept that and added bios on the guys in the band including pictures, so you can check that out on the Band Bio page. We're gonna try to update the site a little more than in the past to keep up with our traffic, so keep checking back frequently!!!

"Hungry For More" Pulls In Grammy Nomination!
We had two recordings released this year. Our latest, most recent CD, "Hungry For More" has received a fourth nomination for the band. This is the first CD from the band of all NEW material since the release of "I Love Polka Music" back in 2000. "Hungry For More" has generated excitement wherever the band has traveled throughout the year. The favorite song seems to be "Graj Chlopcy Graj" which you can listen to on our Recordings page. The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS) awarded the Grammy for "Best Polka Recording" to the Jimmy Sturr Orchestra during the awards show on Sunday, February 8, live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
"Let's Go Polka Dancing 2008" Officially Released!
The latest release from the Polka Family Band was released in May 2008, entitled "Let's Go Polka Dancing 2008." The title may sound familiar, but you'll notice the difference in the sound! Hank wasn't that impressed with the outcome of the original CD that was released back in 1996, so he decided to re-record it with the new members of the band. You'll notice a more "full" sound and a little slower tempo. We're very happy with the results and hope our fans are also!
